We had our 3D ultrasound today and Baby is doing great! :D This little one is a total wiggle-worm and put on quite a show for us. The 3D pictures didn't come out too well (kept cutting off a big chuck of the head) because baby was too busy snuggling deep into the placenta and getting all cozy, so we didn't get the cool pictures we were hoping for. But, of course, that's a minimal thing in comparision to knowing little one is doing so well. We did get to record a video of the entire ultrasound, so if the transfer to e-file works well, Rick will be posting that with the other ultrasound photos soon.
I have been somewhat hesitant about today's appointment because I had falled pretty hard into the side of our raised tile bathtub last weekend and been having a lot of pain and some cramping ever since. I had been thinking I was feeling the baby move quite a bit the last few days, so that was hopeful, but I also was afraid that maybe it wasn't really the baby moving and just my wishful thinking. After seeing this little one wiggle, I'm now sure I've been feeling movement for a couple weeks now - what fun!!!
I see the doctor again in 2 weeks, and then because things are going so well, there is a strong possibility that I will be a "regular" ob patient for a couple months and go a whole month between visits! (I'll be in major withdrawls with 4 weeks between visits, but that they think I'm doing well enough to go to that schedule is very good news.) Instead of monthly growth-check ultrasounds as anticipated, unless there is reason for concern, I only have 3 more ultrasounds scheduled the entire pregnancy at this point - 20 weeks, 30 weeks, and 34 weeks.
And, I actually gained 2 pounds over the last 2 weeks! Of course, I think part of that is because I went in right after a pretty solid lunch, downed 32 ounces of water on the way, and was wearing heavy/chunky shoes but I officially am marked with my first weight gain of the pregnancy!
Here are a few fun facts:
I've dreamed of being a Mommy since I was 3-years-old. On July 31 I turned 33 while pregnant with my 3rd living child.
On August 15 we will celebrate 13 years of marriage while pregnant with the 13th child God has brought into our lives (3 miscarriage, 7 adoption losses, 2 living children and this baby), who happens to be due between February 14-18 (Feb. 15 is our 1/2 year anniversary). I tend to use the Feb. 14 due date (because I love saying I'm due on Valentine's Day), so that's 15 (anniversary date), 13 (years married), 14 (edd).
Due dates (thus obviously, conception dates) have been very close for all six babies we know we have been blessed to conceive. I guess when my body does get pregnant, it happens only at specific times of year!
With Noel and Joel (both miscarried), we conceived on Dec. 10 (1994) and January 1 (2001), so dates just 3 weeks apart.
With Joshua (1999) and Hannah (miscarried, 2001), they were both conceived on/about April 16.
Ruth was conceived about May 10 (2003) and new Baby, May 27 of this year (LMP had been May 10 like Ruth's conception day).
Of the babies I've carried to birth (optamistically counting this baby in that number), conception dates have spanned only a 5 1/2 week window (April 16-May 27)!
Ruth was born Jan. 25 (edd Feb 2), just a smidge over 3 years and 1 month after Joshua's Dec. 22 (edd Jan 6) birth. This baby is due Feb 18 (using conception date), thus, if we go to term, will be not quite 3 years and 1 month younger than Ruth. People who don't know our history have no clue that we can't "plan" our family! I never-in-a-million-years would have guessed that this would be God's plan for us after 7 years of primary infertility!
