Still sick, yet life moves on. :)

Yep, we are still/again sick. Rick, Ruthi and Jeremiah are all on their second round of antibiotics and if I keep getting worse, I'll probably be headed back into urgent care over the weekend too. So far Joshua is holding his own with just a cough and headaches.

I feel like a terrible Mommy for not writing down the date, but sometime since Jeremiah was born, I think about 5 weeks ago now, Joshua lost his first tooth! He lost it on a Wednesday afternoon, and the second tooth came out while he was brushing for bed Thursday night, so he had "tooth fairy" visits ("Come on, Mom. I know it's you and Daddy!") two nights in a row! The first tooth was actually pushed out by the new tooth already growing in. What a landmark for my baby boy! *sigh*

As of today, Joshua has also logged 180 days in his 2005/2006 homeschool year. We still have another month of first grade curriculum I plan to finish with him, and will probably continue with classes year-round but with a lighter schedule over this summer. Out of curiosity, I had Joshua take a TX state math achievement test online a month or so ago and he tested out at the end of second grade in skills, so I guess we are doing OK. It feels good to know that he has officially has met state standards for this entire school year already, so everything else this year is bonus. What a fun year it has been!

Ruthi started ballet last week and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately we had to miss yesterday due to her bug, but what a doll she is in her little pink tutu. I'll try to get Rick to post some pictures soon. :) At her follow-up with the growth specialist this week we found that she has gained more than a pound and grown more than an inch in the past 4 months! We are looking for at least two inches growth a year, so she is doing wonderfully. Rather than in 3 months, we don't have to go back for another follow-up until the end of September. Thank you for all your prayers!

Jeremiah is not loosing any time for coming a month early. Today, during tummy time, he kept kicking his legs and acting for all the world like he wanted to crawl. He ended up scooting a full foot in about 30 seconds. Then he pushed up on his little arms and rolled himself to his back - I missed the actual roll, but Joshua was ecstatic to witness his baby brother's accomplishment! I ran around the corner to find Jeremiah grinning, cooing and obviously proud of himself (or at least impressed with the noise coming from his big brother).
