Introducing Jeremiah Ray Saake - Jan. 23, 2006

More details to follow, but the basics are that he's here, whole and healthy! Praise the Lord. Very hard birth, but Mommy now recovering well too. Jeremiah was nearly 4 weeks early (36 weeks, 2 days) but so far having almost no "preemie issues" and we were all home less than 48 hours after birth.

He was born at 4:14pm on Monday, Jan. 23. (Almost exactly 48 hours before big sister's 3rd birthday at 4:10 on the 25th.) He weighed 5 pounds, 15 ounces and was 18.3 inches long. (Joshua had been 4 lbs, 13 oz and 18 inches at 38 weeks; Ruth had been 6 lbs, 5 oz at 39 weeks.)

So relieved to be done with pregnancy complications and have this baby boy safely in our arms!!! God's grace overwhelms us.

Please keep in prayer a woman (don't know her name, but God does) who delivered a fullterm stillborn baby in the room across the hall from mine the night after Jeremiah was born. My heart is so very heavy for her.
