Spent afternoon at doctor's office...Could be soon...Or not???

Been having pretty good contractions today. Not too intense, but consistent. Wednesday night I was having very, very intense contractions (wanted to throw up every time), but they were irregular. Today, not so strong, but usually coming at least once every 5 minutes since 10:30 or 11 this morning (It's 5:30 my time right now). I am also having a pretty strong back ache and looser stools (not diarrhea, but just looser). Called the doctor to see what parameters they wanted me to know before the weekend and was told to come right in for a check. Finally gained another pound (I think I'm at 6 pounds over starting weight now) and had an exam.

Doctor says he can still only just get his finger through my cervix, so we haven't seen any new dilation, but it has thinned out by about 50% in the last 8 days! I'm not in active labor yet but he said it is very possible I could have this baby within the next 24 hours or equally as possible I could go another 2-3 weeks . Tomorrow is 36 weeks and that has been my personal goal all along. My doctor is the on-call doc this weekend and he has assured me that if I come in he will not attempt to stop my labor! I am so ready to meet this little guy, but I am also trying very hard not to get my hopes up way too high because Ruth was ready to come "any time" for nearly 3 weeks before they finally had mercy and induced me.

My selfish prayer is, if baby is strong and healthy enough to come without risking his health, that we could just get this show on the road and have him this weekend! If this isn't God's best for our son, please pray for me to have peace, patience, and that my body will kindly quiet down until the time is right so that I can go into real labor with as much rest and strength as possible.
